Last week our Cubs were lucky enough to be able to visit the Middle Wallop Army Airbase and in particular, the Apache Helicopter maintenance hanger there. We met up at the car park outside the gates, and were led through the guard room and security to the huge hanger where a number of Apaches were being maintained. We all got to take a close look at one helicopter in particular where Stu and other members of the team explained all about the £35 million machine. The Cubs (and leaders) were lucky enough to get to sit in one of the two cockpit seats, handled some of the awesome weaponry (not live I hasten to add) and have a great time that not many people get to do.
Thank you so much to Stu and the guys at Middle Wallop for allowing us all to have such an great experience and for taking the time to demonstrate all this to the group, we are very grateful.
