The 2019 District Beaver Activity Day was held last weekend in our HQ and was a huge success. The day was based around the Safety badge and there were many activities for the Beavers to join in with. They learnt all about the Hampshire Air Ambulance who were kind enough to pay us a visit (though without the helicopter). They were able to get hands-on with some of the equipment used by the ambulance team even got involved in some role play. During the afternoon, the Beavers learnt about road safety, water safety and safety in the home. They were lucky enough to meet members of the Fire Brigade who paid us a visit to explain to the Beavers all about fire safety. They arrived in one of their engines which most of the Beavers had the opportunity to sit in before they had to race off to a job. Network Rail also joined us for the afternoon and the Beavers learnt a great deal from them about track safety.
The District Day is always a valuable opportunity for our Beaver Colony to join in with other Beavers from across the Andover District. It was a very busy day and we all learnt a lot.
Thank you very much to everyone involved in helping to organise this event and to everyone that helped on the day.
