The 12th Andover Cub Scouts took part in the annual district ‘Scrapheap challenge’ on Saturday 23rd November, entering 3 teams into the junk modelling activity.
The Cubs were tasked with responding to a brief, the challenge was to design and construct their own model campsite using the ‘scrapheap’ to find materials and fabricate their fantastic creations! Their models had to contain an array of activity zones and features; examples include: a campfire circle, flagpole, assault course, lake for water sports, a field for pitching tents and one for a flock of sheep!
Our teams did a wonderful job, finishing 2nd and 3rd, but more importantly all of our cubs used great skills in teamwork, problem solving, imagination and creativity to have fun.
Congratulations to the 1st Whitchurch for their winning model, our thanks to the district team for organising the event, we’re already looking forward to next year!
