Cubs Visit the Zoo May 2019

Cubs Visit the Zoo May 2019

The 12th Andover (West) Cubs had a wonderful time at the Marwell Wildlife annual ‘Scouting the Zoo’ event on Saturday 18th May.

This years theme was ‘Dinosaur Crazy’, following a trail around the Zoo to spot all of the ‘BRICKOSAURS’ sculptures made from Lego bricks. The Cubs spent the day exploring the Zoo, spending time in the Brickosaurs ‘basecamp’ building their own Lego dinosaurs, crafting their own dinosaur fossil out of clay, meeting a dinosaur trainer and looking at the fabulous Zoo animals. The activity day also allowed for an opportunity to complete aspects of various badge work including skills, adventure, outdoors, world (environment) and animal carer.

The Cubs also enjoyed plenty of time in the Zoo’s adventure playgrounds and even had time for an ice cream! The day rounded off with being awarded a special ‘Scouting the Zoo 2019’ commemorative badge for their camp blankets.

Thank you to all involved.
