Over the summer break we have been busy making improvements to the 12th hut and grounds ready for the new school year and we thought we’d give you a preview before everyone returns next week.

  • The external kitchen continues to be built and the brickwork is almost complete with just 1 area to be finished.
  • The worktop mosaic created by our young people looks fabulous.
  • The new seating plinths are in place and just need the wooden seat slats to be added.
  • The front path has had 2 extensions added to make it easier to navigate (especially for wheelchairs) and to protect the grass where it got most muddy in winter.
  • We have put down more gravel around the hut skirt to protect against rabbits who try and dig under the place.
  • We’ve added a new door to the concrete shed to make it more weather-proof.

I think you’ll agree it looks great and has made the 12th HQ even better that it was last year.
