On Sunday, 30th November, a number of our young people were presented with awards by our District Lead Volunteer, Phil Deverill. These awards represent some of the highest achievements possible in Scouting, requiring dedication, perseverance, and a great deal of hard work. We are incredibly proud of all our young people — including those who have moved on to Explorers but still volunteer at 12th section evenings each week. Their continued commitment is a wonderful testament to the strength of our group.
Award Recipients
- Fraser Nock and William Cooper – Chief Scout’s Silver Award
Both are now preparing to move up to Scouts. - Austin Scratchley and Bethan Paulley – Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Austin volunteers weekly at Beavers as a Young Leader. Bethan was unable to attend the ceremony, but has also completed her award. - Dylan Maratos – Chief Scout’s Platinum Award
Dylan volunteers weekly at Cubs. - Oliver Webster – Chief Scout’s Platinum and Diamond Awards, plus Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Oliver volunteers weekly at Cubs and contributes in multiple roles for the County Youth Team.
These are all outstanding achievements, and we extend our warmest congratulations to each of you. A huge thank you also goes to our Explorers for the time and energy you give each week to support the 12th — your efforts make a real difference.
