Our recent Annual General Meeting was more than just an opportunity to reflect on the past year — it was a moment to celebrate the incredible young people and leaders who make the 12th Andover (West) Scout Group such a special community.
Beavers Shine Bright
We were thrilled to honour some of our brightest stars in Beavers:
- Best Beaver: Theo, for his consistent enthusiasm and teamwork
- Happiest Beaver: Ashley, whose infectious smile brightens every meeting
- Bravest Beaver: Marley, recognised for his resilience and courage (presented at the next session)
- Biggest Growth: Filip, who made great strides in both confidence and water skills
Cubs Awards
This year’s Cub awards celebrated a range of personal achievements and Scouting spirit, honouring the following young people, each recognised for their unique contributions and growth over the year:

Scouts in the Spotlight
Our Scout section had some outstanding moments:
- Most Potential: Cam — bright prospects ahead!
- Most Improved: Julia, for stepping up and shining
- Scout of the Year: Emily, for her commitment and camaraderie
- Best Patrol: The mighty Kingfishers!
Austin wasn’t present, but he has been awarded his Chief Scout’s Gold Award, the highest Award a Scout can earn – an amazing, inspirational achievement, well done,Austin!
Elliot received his Chief Scout’s Silver Award – presented after the AGM — a proud milestone indeed.
Recognising Leadership and Dedication
- The Tom Cable Award for Outstanding Contribution went to Mel Hawkes, whose dedication spans over a decade in Cubs and Beavers, and Maddie Day, who has grown through the Young Leader programme into a soon-to-be adult leader.
- Scout Award for Merit: Sharon Boxall, marking 20 years as Treasurer, Trustee, and event powerhouse!
- Young Leader Awards: Congratulations to Oliver Webster and Maddie Day for completing their training and continuing to inspire the younger sections.
Chief Scout’s Years of Service Awards
We also celebrated the incredible service milestones of our adult volunteers:
- 10 Years: Simon Pay
- 15 Years: Sue Wood and Stuart Baston
Wood Badge
Michael Burgess received the Wood Badge for completing his Leader training with the 12th (West) Andover Scout Group
