Scouting is all about encouraging our young people to try their hand at new skills and experiences. On Tuesday 20th June we welcomed the Charmborough Mini-Ring to the Hut. Our Scouts enjoyed the challenge of trying out the ancient art of bell-ringing, and we are grateful to Roger Booth and his team of volunteers for providing hands-on tutoring. With a bit of coaching most of our Scouts got to grips with things pretty quickly and seemed to be getting stuck into the challenge. Some pictures from the event are shown below, if any of your youngsters would like to try ringing “real” bells in a church tower, please contact scout leader, Richard Paxford. Our thanks also to parents for helping us with assembly and disassembly of the mobile belfry; and also to the staff of the ‘Ringing World’ Magazine for being our photographers for the evening.
