In June, the Cubs participated in the annual regatta held on the river at Goodworth Clatford.
The event took place over 2 Thursday evenings; the first was held at the hut where Cubs built their boats using materials they sourced and were ably assisted by their parent or guardian.
The creations were then taken home for any final finishing touches before the following week’s competition regatta. Each boat was floated down the stream in a series of heats before the finals were contested.
Although the stream was shallow, all the crafts fared well, with Henry P winning the overall prize and Arthur P winning the secondary regatta.
